Buyer's Guide - Remote Or Non-Remote?
The first major decision is whether to purchase a remote controlled or a non-remote kaddy. Some think that since the remote control kaddies are more expensive they must be better. Actually there are pros and cons to each style of kaddy. The key is to determine which style fits you, your needs, and your personality the best. As always, you can call us toll free for help selecting the best kaddy for you. The big advantage of the remote control kaddy is the freedom to walk where ever you like and send the kaddy on a different course. There are several instances when this is a very nice feature. First, if you want to walk across the green to head for the next tee you can send your kaddy around the green and meet up with it at the next tee. Second, if you are helping someone look for a ball in a hazard or in the woods, you can leave your kaddy in the fairway and meet up with it when the search is over. So what is the downside to the remote kaddy? You have to pay attention to the kaddy at all times. Seems like a couple of times a year I have someone call up and say they accidentally drove their kaddy into a lake. If you prefer to talk with your friends, enjoy nature, and don't want to keep track of a wondering kaddy, then the remote models may not be for you. The non-remote kaddies can be the perfect alternative for those who prefer not to have their attention focused their kaddy. Most golfers are already very accustomed to the use a model of the non-remote kaddy since they have used a push or pull cart. You steer the kaddy but it supplies all of the power required to move your clubs and golf gear around the course. They are a huge improvement over carrying, pulling, or pushing your bag and clubs around the course! The only downside is that you always have go to your kaddy instead of it coming to you. This is also an upside since you always know where your kaddy is and it's not in the lake. Ultimately it comes down to your personality and your desires. Many people love the remote kaddy due to the freedom it affords but others prefer the ease of use of the non-remote. Either way you will avoid the fatigue that comes with carrying, pulling or pushing your clubs around the course. |
